This week I trained Oxfam's digital campaigns and communication team how to create and improve their video output for social media.
Oxfam staff and volunteers gather footage in the field to raise awareness of humanitarian issues and promote their aid work. Once filmed, video content needs to be edited in-line with their campaign strategy and brand guidelines by in house producers.
After evaluating students current situation and learning objectives I delivered a bespoke 2 day After Effects training course to help Oxfam make or enhance their social video content.
At the beginning of the course staff had little or no knowledge of the software but by the end they were able to perform tasks like creating titles, superimposing graphics and colour grade footage. They also gained an understanding of the post-production workflow and how to collaborate with colleagues more efficiently.
